Robert A. Liston
Robert A. Liston, a former newspaperman and magazine journalist, is the author of 50 non-fiction books. Among these is THE WAYSIDERS: A New Approach to Reading and the Dyslexic Child, written with R.M.N. Crosby, M.D. It was the first book to call attention to dyslexia as a reading disorder. It was published twice in the U.S. and in the U.K. Reviewers lauded it for discussing a complex subject in lucid terms. Some called it a new approach to scientific writing.

Liston also collaborated on THE PILL: Facts and Fallacies about Today's Contraceptives by Robert W. Kistner, M.D. The intricacies of female endocrine and reproductive systems were explained in easily understood terms.

Liston is the sole author of two books on psychology, When Reason Fails and Healing the Mind. Among his 25 published novels, 11 are on medical themes. Liston lives in Santa Barbara with his wife, Jean.
